The Riverside community is grappling with a disturbing event as the Sheriff's Central Homicide Unit has recently disclosed new details surrounding a homicide investigation in Hemet. The victim, now identified as 56-year-old Denise Maria Christina, was discovered at her residence with alarming signs of fatal trauma.
Officials have made progress in the case with the arrest of 38-year-old Brian Jerome Patton, also a Hemet resident, on suspicion of murder. Patton was booked into the Smith Correctional Facility on December 12, as reported by the Riverside County Sheriff's Office. However, the Sheriff's Office has yet to release further details, keeping a tight lid on the evolving investigation.
The incident first came to light when deputies were called to the 25000 block of Minorca Street on the evening of December 11. After a report of a 'suspicious circumstance', deputies found Christina deceased, with the scene quickly deemed grave enough to call in homicide detectives.
While the investigation is still underway, authorities are appealing to the public for assistance. Anyone with potentially relevant information is encouraged to reach out to Central Homicide Unit Investigator Dimaggio at the provided phone numbers, the Riverside County Sheriff's Office stated.
