
The Houston Police Department is asking for help in finding the vehicle involved in a hit-and-run that killed 61-year-old Lilia Vazquez, a jogger, on the morning of December 13. The incident occurred around 6:40 a.m. on Westpark Drive at 9200 Westpark Drive, according to the City of Houston.
Surveillance footage of the accident shows a dark pickup truck, likely with a flat rectangular piece of plywood in its cab, striking Ms. Vazquez, who was jogging on the right shoulder near Jeanetta Drive. The vehicle, which reportedly sustained damage to its front right light, fled the scene without offering assistance. The investigation, led by Houston Police Department Vehicular Crimes Division officials Sergeant L. Ross, Officer R. Bymaster, and Detective V. Cantu, seeks information not only on the truck but also on the unidentified driver, who remains at large, as reported by the City of Houston.
