High school students in Hurst, Euless, Bedford, and nearby areas are invited to take an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at local government through the HEB 2025 Youth in Government program. This initiative, developed by the HEB Chamber of Commerce in collaboration with the tri-city alliance, seeks to provide juniors and seniors with hands-on experience and insight into the functions of city governance, according to the City of Euless.
In addition to the invaluable learning opportunity, participants may compete for a college scholarship. Classes will convene on Mondays from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m., beginning January 13 and running through April 7, with a graduation ceremony scheduled for April 14. While transportation is not provided, classes will be hosted at various locations within the HEB area, and participants will be treated to a light dinner during sessions.
Eligibility is open to high school juniors and seniors residing in Hurst, Euless, or Bedford as of January 2, 2025. Prospective participants can find additional information and submit applications online by visiting the "Youth in Government" section of the HEB website or by calling 817-283-1521. The application deadline is on Friday, so interested students are encouraged to act promptly.
