The blaze, which was reported to first responders by the Kaua‘i Police Dispatch at approximately 2:55 p.m., prompted an immediate response from multiple fire stations and airborne units to the scene. According to a statement on the county's official website, no injuries or structural damage have been reported.
The collaborative firefighting efforts involved personnel from the Hanalei, Kaiākea, and Kalāheo fire stations, along with Rescue 3, Tender 1, Air 1, Air 2, and the on-duty Battalion Chief. The strategy was effective in suppressing a potentially volatile situation, underscoring the Kaua‘i Fire Department’s preparedness for such emergencies. Upon arrival at the reported location, firefighters discovered a one-acre fire that had the potential to rapidly spread through the lush greenery of the island's north shore.
With concerted action, the teams utilized both ground and aerial tactics, deploying Air 1, Air 2, and Tender 1 to strategically tackle the encroaching flames.
