
Washington DC's Metropolitan Police Department has reported an arrest in connection with a recent kidnapping incident in Northwest. According to MPD's official release, on the morning of December 12, 2024, law enforcement officers were called to assist US Marshals in the 4000 block of Kansas Avenue, Northwest. Investigations led them to a residence where 13 individuals were found, including an adult male who appeared to have been held hostage.
The man was discovered with injuries and broken zip ties on his limbs, telling officers that he had been restrained and attacked. After his rescue, he received medical care for his non-life-threatening injuries. In the course of the evening of December 11, assailants allegedly attempted to extort monies from the victim without success.
Among the arrests made, 33-year-old Davon Patterson was charged with Kidnapping. Patterson, reported to have no fixed address, is suspected of being directly involved in the criminal act against the victim. The incident led to additional arrests made at the scene. The MPD states that eleven other individuals were taken into custody for Unlawful Entry, with some facing further charges including Possession of a Controlled Substance and Possession With Intent to Distribute a Controlled Substance.
Those arrested and their corresponding charges include individuals from various backgrounds and locations, such as 31-year-old Dominique Turner and 41-year-old Annette Hawkins, both of no fixed address, with Jenonte Crutchfield, Megan Grimberg and others hailing from different parts of the DC metro area. The case is still actively under investigation, and the Metropolitan Police Department encourages any with information regarding the crime to contact them. A reward of up to $1,000 is being offered for information that leads to the arrest and indictment of those responsible for the incident.
