Early Thursday morning, Los Angeles Fire Department crews battled a quarter-acre brush fire near Elysian Park. The incident, logged as INC#0389, began at approximately 7:38 AM along Grand View Drive. LAFD resources were dispatched swiftly to the scene, with crews encountering a slow-moving fire in heavy vegetation close to the Elysian Reservoir ravine.
According to the LAFD alert, no wind was present, and no structures were threatened, nor were injuries reported at that time. The coordinated effort between LAFD and Park Rangers was initiated to contain what has been named the "Grandview IC" fire.
The LAFD successfully halted the fire's progression not long after their initial response. A total of 35 firefighters surrounded the blaze with hose lines in the steep terrain, confining it to the originally affected area. Additionally, there were no injuries as a result of the fire, and units are expected to remain on the scene to monitor and extinguish any hot spots or potential flare-ups until complete extinguishment is confirmed.
