
Los Angeles firefighters made quick work of a rubbish fire that erupted on the side of the 405 Freeway in Sherman Oaks yesterday evening. According to a Los Angeles Fire Department alert, the incident occurred at approximately 8:40 PM and was designated incident number 1686.
Firefighters deployed quickly to the scene, using a water tender to tackle the flames with large quantities of water, a tactic that allowed them to control the fire effectively as they moved alongside it.
The LAFD also brought in additional resources, "Two additional engines requested," indicating the potential for the fire to escalate although there were no structures threatened no one was injured during the incident.
No cause of the fire has been reported, and the LAFD has not indicated any follow-up investigation at this point. The incident was managed by firefighters from Station 88, Battalion 10, in the Valley Bureau, falling under Council District 6.
