The Laredo Sector Border Patrol has once again shined a spotlight on the young academic achievers of Laredo. In a recent ceremony centered on scholarly excellence, the Youth of the Month program for December selected and honored eleven high school students for their academic prowess.
According to a release by the U.S. Customs and Border Protection, the event took place at the Performing Arts Center hosted by Cigarroa High School. Each young honoree was recognized yesterday in a ceremony that has been a steady tradition for the past 38 years. Border Patrol Agent and Master of Ceremony, Clarissa Moncivais, presided over the commencement, celebrating the students selected from various Laredo high schools.
Guest speakers, including Dr. Carmen A. Pompa and Patrol Agent in Charge Adam Ruiz, had a message for the assemblage — highlighting the award's value and the tenacious scholarly commitment these students have maintained. "The significance of the Youth-of-the-Month award" was central to their addresses, as quoted from the official release.
Congratulatory statements have been extended to all the awardees, who not only exemplify academic excellence but also embody the dedication and effort true scholarship demands. The Laredo Sector Border Patrol remains committed to recognizing these young individuals who continue to raise an bar for educational achievement within their communities.
