The Lone Tree Police Department is currently investigating a spike in residential burglaries, echoing a pattern of organized crime that has touched various locales across the Front Range. As reported by Denver7, Chief of Police Kirk Wilson has expressed concern over the rising trend and is urging residents to report all suspicious activities, "Whether you live in a gated community or you live in just a regular neighborhood, you should be calling in things that look suspicious," said Chief Wilson.
According to KDVR, the most recent in a series of burglaries occurred in broad daylight, between 1:30 and 2:20 p.m., where a vehicle of interest was spotted and is now been sought by authorities, described as a gray 2002-09 GMC Envoy with significant damage to the driver’s side front quarter panel, non-matching wheels, and a sunroof, and notably, it bears no license plates, the police have asked the public to be vigilant and to dial 911 immediately should they encounter the vehicle.
Amid these disquieting events, local sheriff's offices are taking action to address community concerns by hosting a town hall meeting, as detailed by 9News. The agenda for the meeting will encompass several pressing topics, including burglaries targeting Asian business owners' homes, the surge in "dinnertime" burglaries targeting luxury homes, and the provision of essential holiday safety and security tips for residents.
