Violence and gun possession issues continue to plague the streets of Long Beach, with recent police activity highlighting the ongoing struggle for safety. According to a blotter release by the Long Beach Police Department, a man was stabbed near Pacific Coast Highway and Atlantic Avenue on Tuesday, resulting from an attempted robbery gone violent.
The victim, sustaining a wound to the upper body, managed to get himself to a hospital, while the assailants remain at large, with authorities actively investigating the incident, as detailed by the LBPD.
Amid the persistent dangers, LBPD officers have been diligently working to reduce harm, their efforts leading to the confiscation of a firearm from an individual not lawfully permitted to possess one, this seizure stemming from a bicycle stop conducted in the early hours of December 18.
The routine stop occurred near Gundry Avenue and Pacific Coast Highway while the ongoing investigation has seen the suspect arrest showing at least some measures of precaution and enforcement are in place to address the illicit flow of weapons.
