The Long Beach Police Department reported a series of events including a stabbing, the recovery of firearms during a traffic stop, and after a traffic collision on the night of December 6. The LBPD, detailing the incidents on its official website, pointed to swift responses in each circumstance.
According to the LBPD Blotter, the stabbing occurred around 11:23 P.M. in the 6800 block of Atlantic Avenue when a verbal altercation between two male adults escalated. A suspect, later identified as 28-year-old Dominique Dangelo Perryman, who is reportedly experiencing homelessness, inflicted a non-life-threatening stab wound to the victim's lower body. The victim, transported by Long Beach Fire Department personnel to a local hospital, received treatment for his injuries. Found near the scene not long after, Perryman was arrested and is facing charges that include assault with a deadly weapon and obstruction of a police officer, with bail set at $30,000.
Further law enforcement efforts the same night led to the recovery of two guns in separate instances. Officers during a traffic stop around 10:25 P.M. on Dawson Avenue apprehended a suspect and retrieved a firearm, an investigation which remains in progress as per the LBPD Blotter. Alongside, around 9:21 P.M. at the crossroads of Pacific Coast Highway and Santa Fe Avenue, officers responded to a traffic collision. The suspect involved was not only determined to be driving under the influence but also found in possession of a firearm and ammunition, exacerbating his charge as a prohibited possessor.
