The Los Angeles County Department of Public Health is delivering on its promise to uphold national public health standards. This comes after the department successfully earned reaccreditation from the Public Health Accreditation Board (PHAB), ensuring its commitment to serving the people of Los Angeles for the next five years, according to the County of Los Angeles. The reaccreditation is a testament to the department’s enduring efforts to maintain a high bar for health and safety in the community.

Pursuing the goal of continuously offering improved services, the department underwent a rigorous assessment to demonstrate its adherence to the quality standards set by PHAB. "We are pleased to be recognized by the Public Health Accreditation Board for achieving national standards that foster effectiveness and promote continuous quality improvement to better serve our communities," Dr. Barbara Ferrer, Director of the Department of Public Health, stated in a bulletin released by Los Angeles County.

"We are extremely pleased to be at the point in the accreditation program where the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health, along with many others, are successfully maintaining their five-year accreditation status through PHAB," Paul Kuehnert, President, and CEO of PHAB, as per the Los Angeles County announcement. PHAB, a non-profit entity supported by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, aims to notably advance public health practice through advocacy for innovation and strong infrastructure.
