The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department has issued an urgent plea for the public's assistance in locating a 3-year-old girl who has been declared critically missing. According to KTLA, Emerald "Emi" Noele Clairborne was last seen on December 27 with her mother, Brianna Leuvnia Haywood, in Lancaster. Described as a Black female toddler standing at 3 feet and 3 inches and weighing 42 pounds, Emi is mute, has medical obligations, and has a birthmark on her right torso. She was wearing a pink "Minnie Mouse" jacket, blue shirt, black pants, and pink light-up shoes at the time of her disappearance.
The mother, Brianna Leuvnia Haywood, is a 24-year-old Black woman who is 5 feet and 5 inches tall and weighs approximately 109 pounds. Haywood has black hair, and brown eyes, and was seen driving away in a 2005 white Chevrolet Trailblazer, with an unknown license plate number. Family members have voiced their concerns about the safety and well-being of the child. The investigation is being led by the Lancaster Station detectives, and officials have emphasized the child’s critical missing status, particularly because she is nonverbal and requires medical attention.
In their continued searches, the sheriff's department has urged anyone with information to contact Detective Medina or the on-duty watch commander at the Lancaster Station. An informational post was also made on the department’s Facebook page, outlining the child's and mother’s descriptions and imploring assistance from the community.
