Residents in Kingwood grappling with the aftermath of recent tornadoes and severe weather can look to Lowe's for some much-needed assistance. The home improvement giant is set to distribute free cleanup supplies this Tuesday. The giveaway is an effort to aid the community as it embarks on the long road to recovery.
According to KHOU, Lowe's employees from the Kingwood store will begin handing out the supplies at 10:00 a.m. at the location on 22600 Eastex Freeway. These heavy-duty totes, numbering over 200, are to swiftly go on a first-come, first-served basis and contain items that are essential for cleaning up in the wake of the storms, including disinfectant wipes, paper towels, and water.
Each 27-gallon tote is stocked with supplies that are crucial for those beginning the daunting task of cleaning up their properties. Items within the totes include items such as goggles, heavy-duty contractor trash bags, a flashlight, and batteries. The aim is to provide some relief to those who are now facing the challenge of returning their lives to a semblance of normalcy.
FOX 26 Houston reports that since 2017, Lowe's has notably distributed more than 90,000 buckets and totes filled with similar relief supplies. Their ongoing efforts underscore a commitment to serving communities in dire need, evidenced by earlier contributions this year of 750 totes to residents in Kingwood, Conroe, and Livingston following severe weather events.
Community members affected by the recent natural disasters are encouraged to arrive early to ensure they can receive these free supplies. It's a clear gesture from Lowe's that demonstrates the role corporations can play in community support during times of crisis, extending a helping hand to those who have unexpectedly found themselves in the path of natural calamities.
