Commuters in Seattle experienced significant delays on Friday after a seven-car crash blocked all westbound lanes on State Route 520 near Montlake Boulevard. According to the Washington State Patrol (WSP), the pileup was initiated by a black Jaguar that struck six other vehicles before coming to a halt in the second lane. Found in disarray, the other cars were spread across the other lanes. Seattle Fire Department teams worked to extricate two individuals from separate vehicles who were subsequently hospitalized, with a 42-year-old man in serious condition transported to Harborview Medical Center and an adult woman in stable condition, KING5 reported.
The collision's proximity to a King County Metro bus carrying several passengers added to the initial alarm; however, a spokesperson clarified that the bus was not involved in the pileup. Although Seattle Fire evaluated nine bus passengers, all declined further medical treatment. In total, five individuals were taken to Harborview Medical Center for treatment of their injuries.
