Violence pierced the calm of North Seattle last night as a 26-year-old man was left in critical condition following a stabbing incident near Licton Springs Park. The attack took place around 9 p.m. on the 9500 block of Ashworth Avenue North, where police officers quickly responded to the emergency call, according to the Seattle Police Department's blotter.
The victim, found with a severe chest wound, was tended to by both police and the Seattle Fire Department before being transported to Harborview Medical Center, where he remains in critical condition. The suspect, described as a clean-shaven tall man wearing a gray jacket, fled the scene and was last seen heading north on Ashworth Avenue. A comprehensive search ensued, involving both K9 units and the King County Sheriff’s Department’s Guardian One helicopter, yet the perpetrator evaded capture.
Details of what led to the stabbing have not been released; however, the investigation is ongoing as Seattle police work to piece together the events of last night.
