Residents and early morning tranquility were shattered Monday as gunfire erupted at Cedar Springs Apartments on Cedar Forest Way in Raleigh, an incident that has left one man grappling for life in a nearby hospital.
According to CBS 17, Raleigh Police Department officers were dispatched at approximately 3:49 a.m. to the scene near Atlantic Avenue where they discovered a man suffering from gunshot wounds.
In an ongoing investigation that has already seen rapid developments, WRAL reports that police have interrogated two individuals, detaining one as the alleged shooter, and with one suspect in custody, authorities assert there is currently no ongoing threat to the residents of the complex.
