Mattamy Homes is extending its footprint in Arizona, this time with a two-fold expansion in the residential sector near Phoenix and Marana. The builder, headquartered in Orlando, Florida, with Canadian roots, has recently acquired 73 residential lots in the Blackhawk community south of Phoenix, forking over a cozy $7.3 million, according to the Phoenix Business Journal. Each slot pulls a price tag of around $100,000, a testament to the area's appeal, in a deal that closed its doors last Wednesday.
Not falling behind the pace, the company has wrapped up another transaction in Marana, adding 22 acres known as Tavira at Twin Peaks to its belt on September 5, per information from AZ Big Media with plans to develop a gated community that boasts 45 homes served up with five single-story floorplans. "We are excited to introduce Tavira at Twin Peaks to the Marana community," Anjela Salyer, President of Mattamy Homes’ Tucson Division, voiced with conviction as families and professionals eye the picturesque Catalina and Tortolita Mountains which provide a scenic backdrop to the area’s tranquility combined, with the convenience of nearby city amenities.
The Blackhawk endeavor, nestled near Tucson, stretches its fingers into the recreational pie with pathways promising to connect to a future regional trailway system, with pockets parks and a community designed with residents' outdoor lifestyles in mind. "This convenient location ensures that shopping, dining, and outdoor recreation destinations are never far away, making it an ideal choice for families, professionals and empty nesters alike," Salyer conveyed in a statement shared by the Phoenix Business Journal. Mattamy Homes anticipates opening model homes on the Blackhawk site by summer 2025 to welcome potential homeowners looking to stake a claim in this burgeoning community.
In Marana's soon-to-be Tavira community, future residents can look forward to exclusive amenities like a sunset viewing area, a garden, a playground, and a ramada, along with a network of trails connecting to broader recreational offerings that weave throughout the region, stretching the legs of walkers, runners, and cyclists. The surrounding Tortolita Mountains usher in additional allure with accessible trails and parks, including the Tortolita Preserve Trailhead, which is a mere 3.5 miles northwest from the property, and an 8-mile Tortolita Preserve Loop Trail, Tangerine Sky Park’s upcoming dog parks, playgrounds, and splash pad are just 2.5 miles from the community is set for enhancement according to Salyer's remarks to AZ Big Media.
With these new ventures, Mattamy Homes continues to embed itself in the Arizona community, mirroring the growing demand for quality housing in the state and its commitment to providing homes that blend seamlessly with the functional and recreational needs of modern living. The developments are poised near pivotal hubs of activity, like the University of Arizona Tech Park and the Davis-Monthan Air Force Base, aligning with the company’s ethos of ensuring valuable and accessible living spaces.
