A bold robbery in Memphis has led to the arrest of a woman accused of holding a tow truck driver at gunpoint and fleeing with his vehicle. The incident, which played out last Sunday, was notably captured by surveillance footage and resulted in charges against 27-year-old Kelsey Green. In a turn of events on a Chancery Street apartment complex, a tow truck driver attempting to tow a 2018 GMC Terrain reported that a woman threatened him with a gun, commandeered his vehicle, and rescued her SUV from being towed, Action News 5 reported.

Green confronted the tow truck operator amid his work and demanded that he step away from her vehicle. The employee complied, backing away with his hands up as Green lowered her car and drove away in the tow truck, leaving the truck later at the complex's entrance. Another woman, meanwhile, was seen driving off in the GMC Terrain, according to information from the Memphis Police Department, as reported by WREG.

Investigators identified Green as the registered owner of the GMC and, with the help of the video evidence, quickly implicated her in the crime. Surveillance cameras from the apartment complex and an in-car camera installed in the tow truck documented the daring robbery. This led to Green's arrest on Monday with a charge of aggravated robbery. Green was taken into custody and, as reported by Law&Crime, has posted a $75,000 bond.

Green is scheduled to reappear in court today at 9 a.m. to face her charges. The driver said a woman who appeared to be armed with a gun got into the driver’s seat of his tow truck, a 2018 Dodge Ram 5500, according to the probable cause affidavit cited by Law&Crime. The tow truck driver identified Green from a six-person lineup, bolstering the case against her.
