According to a release from the MPD, Aaron Jones, 30, from the Southeast area, has been apprehended and is facing charges for the killing of 44-year-old Bobby Addison.

The incident took place on July 28, 2024, when officers were called swiftly to the 3200 block of 28th Street, Southeast, after reports were made of gunshots. They found Addison with gunshot wounds, and despite the efforts of the DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services, he was pronounced dead at the scene. It took time to soon locate Jones, who was named as the suspect, and yesterday, he was arrested by members of the Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force.

This development comes as a part of MPD's ongoing battle with violent crime in the district. In detailing the arrest, the MPD stated in a press release, "On Monday, December 9, 2024, members of the Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force located and arrested 30-year-old Aaron Jones of Southeast, DC." Following his arrest, Jones was charged with Second Degree Murder while Armed, pursuant to a DC Superior Court arrest warrant.
