The Metropolitan Police Department is requesting public assistance after a business was hit by an armed robber in Southeast, as per a recent release. The crime occurred last Saturday evening when an individual wielding a gun demanded property from a store employee.
It all took place around 5:39 p.m. on the 600 block of Pennsylvania Ave, Southeast, where the armed suspect allegedly made off with goods from the business after confronting an employee. The suspect then escaped from the scene, but not before their actions were caught on surveillance cameras installed nearby.
Police have disseminated the surveillance images and are asking for help from anyone with information on the crime. "Anyone who has knowledge of this incident should take no action but call police at (202) 727-9099 or text your tip to the Department's TEXT TIP LINE at 50411," notes the official announcement from the Washington Metropolitan Police Department. Moreover, the department is offering up to a $10,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the responsible party.
