The Metropolitan Police Department is reaching out to the public with the hopes of finding a suspect tied to a recent armed robbery in Northwest D.C. This crime took place early on a December morning and has left one person injured and the community on high alert.
On Sunday, December 1, D.C. navigators of Florida Avenue's nightlife were plunged into the specter of violence as three individuals allegedly targeted a lone pedestrian. According to MPD's statement, at around 2:16 a.m. in the 900 block area of Florida Avenue, Northwest, one suspect—part of a trio—escalated a theft into an armed confrontation, allegedly showcasing a firearm, while the two others stood by. The victim, confronted with the barrel and demands, yielded to the suspects' claims on their property.
The aftermath left the victim, whose identity remains concealed in the narratives of official reports, dependent on the swift response of DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services. Treated at the scene, their injuries were categorized as non-life-threatening.
Police officials, now weaving through the complexity of urban crime, urge anyone with information to step forward—all with the promise of anonymity and a potential reward, which sums up to $10,000.
