The Metropolitan Police Department is asking for assistance from the public to identify a suspect in an assault and burglary incident that took place in Northeast, according to a recent announcement. The incident occurred on the evening of April 6, 2023, when a woman was attacked in her own home on Pineview Court after encountering the intruder.
The suspect, whose image was caught on nearby surveillance cameras, brandished a knife and assaulted the victim upon her return to her residence. After the victim attempted to call out for aid, the individual fled the scene. Subsequently, the victim was taken to a local hospital by DC Fire and EMS, where she received treatment for injuries described as non-life-threatening, as per the official police release.
In an effort to apprehend the suspect, the MPD has offered a reward of up to $10,000 for information leading to an arrest and conviction in connection with the crime. Authorities emphasize that those who recognize the suspect should not approach but rather contact the police immediately.
