The Metropolitan Police Department is calling for the public's help in identifying a suspect involved in an armed robbery at a Southeast business. The incident, caught on surveillance footage, unfolded last Saturday when a person brandishing a firearm demanded and took property from a store employee in the 600 block of Pennsylvania Ave, Southeast.
According to the Metropolitan Police Department, the robbery took place at approximately 5:39 p.m., after which the suspect fled the scene. The department has since released images and a video of the suspect, which can be viewed on YouTube, capturing the suspect's appearance and actions during the incident.
Members of the community with any knowledge of the crime are instructed to avoid direct engagement, and instead, are encouraged to contact the authorities. Tips can be communicated by calling the MPD at (202) 727-9099, or by texting to the TEXT TIP LINE at 50411. As an incentive for information leading to a resolution, the MPD has announced a reward of up to $10,000 for details that contribute to the arrest and conviction of the individual or individuals responsible for this or any other violent crime within the District of Columbia.
