
The search is on for two robbery suspects in Columbia Heights following an incident earlier this week. The Metropolitan Police Department has released surveillance photos and is asking for the public's assistance in identifying the individuals involved. According to a police report, on Monday, at around 1:00 p.m., the suspects accosted a victim near the 3300 block of 14th Street, Northwest. Claiming to be armed, the assailants demanded the victim's belongings.
An undisclosed amount of property was handed over after the suspects' threatening gesture. After obtaining the victim's items, the suspects fled the scene. In an effort to apprehend these individuals, the MPD has turned to the community for assistance. The suspects were documented on local surveillance equipment and their images have been made available for identification purposes.
Authorities urge anyone with information regarding the identity of the suspects or details of the crime to not confront or approach these individuals, but rather to contact the police. In light of the robbery, the Metropolitan Police Department is offering up to $1,000 as a reward for information leading to an arrest and indictment of the persons responsible for the crime.
