In a generous holiday gesture, the Milwaukee County Zoo is offering free daytime admission to all guests until next Monday as part of their "Frosty Free Week" event. The zoo officials are inviting the community to enjoy the zoo without the cost of admission, a way of giving back for the support received throughout the year, as reported by FOX6 News.
Andrew Stockel of the Milwaukee County Zoo expressed their enthusiasm for the event in an interview with CBS58, "It's a beautiful day after Christmas, and we're looking forward to having as many people that want to join us today as possible, all the way through next Monday," sharing hopes of drawing thousands of community members each day. Even though guests can bask in the joys of free admission the zoo's regular parking, concession, and attraction rates will still apply, and the free offer does not extend to evening events, such as the "Wild Lights" night events.
The zoo's weekday hours remain from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., while the weekend hours extend to 4:30 p.m., giving families a chance to connect with nature and wildlife well into the late afternoon. Additionally, in the spirit of the season, the Versiti Blood Center of Wisconsin partnered with the zoo for the "Holiday of Hope" blood drive, as noted by FOX6 News, offering free admission for a future zoo visit to those who donated blood.
Besides the main attractions, visitors have the opportunity to immerse themselves in a festive atmosphere at the Fantastic Forest in the U.S. Bank Gathering Place, where trees are adorned with animal-themed ornaments crafted by local youth groups, as JSOnline reported. The zoo, located at 10001 W. Blue Mound Road, is ready to welcome guests eager to experience the wonders of wildlife during this gracious end-of-year occasion.
