Milwaukee's winter tradition, Red Arrow Park's Slice of Ice, returns today, starting with free skate rentals from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. The outdoor rink, decorated with holiday décor, offers a festive space for all ages to enjoy the season. According to FOX6Now, after the free skate rentals, regular rentals will be $8 for those under 17 and $11 for adults, with group rates and skate sharpening services also available.

Local officials will add a ceremonial touch to the event, set for 3:30 p.m., offering Milwaukee County families, children, and visitors a special ice-skating experience, according to a statement by Milwaukee County Executive David Crowley shared with Milwaukee Magazine. Free access is available for those with their own skates.

The rink is equipped with ADA ice sleds, available free of charge for skaters with mobility impairments, as noted by Milwaukee County Parks Executive Director Guy Smith in an interview with Urban Milwaukee. Skate helpers for those needing additional support on the ice can be rented for $1, with a $5 refundable deposit or photo ID required.

The rink's atmosphere is further enhanced by the recently opened Biggby Coffee, situated just steps away, offering skaters a selection of warm beverages and treats. With the generous support of local organizations such as MGIC, WaterStone Bank, and Milwaukee Downtown, Business Improvement District #21, visitors can experience a festive holiday ambiance while enjoying the rink.
