A deputy from the Monroe County sheriff's office fatally shot an individual during an altercation yesterday morning. After responding to a report of a suspicious subject in London Township, a similar alert arrived from Exeter Township, according to a release from the sheriff's office sourced by MLive. Attending the second location, the deputy encountered the reported suspicious individual, who was then alleged to have started physically assaulting the officer.
As the situation escalated, "the deputy sheriff shot the person, who was pronounced dead at the scene," as stated in a report by ClickOnDetroit. Found at the Bluebush Road address, the same subject from the Hoffman Road report began to engage in the assault immediately, leading to the critical response by the deputy. The deputy involved was soon after taken to an area hospital with injuries described as non-life-threatening.
