Last evening, Moreno Valley turned into a crime scene after a man was found dead due to gunshot wounds following what was initially reported as a major traffic collision. According to a statement from the Riverside County Sheriff's Office, the incident occurred in the 13000 block of Leota Court.
Deputies dispatched at 7:21 p.m. uncovered the tragedy, and in response, immediately closed the vicinity to both foot and vehicle traffic. Suffering from gunshot wounds, the unidentified man was pronounced deceased at the scene,a s per the Riverside County Sheriff's Office. Secure by the securing deputies, crime scene tape cordoned off the area.
The Central Homicide Unit of the Riverside County Sheriff's Office quickly took over the investigation. As of the latest updates, the deceased has not been identified and authorities have yet to release any new information as the case progresses.
