
The Metropolitan Police Department is requesting the help of the community in identifying and locating suspects involved in a series of robberies that occurred across Northeast and Southeast D.C. on December 2. In a recent press release, MPD detailed multiple incidents of armed robbery and attempted robbery within a span of roughly an hour and a half.
According to the Metropolitan Police Department, the first incident took place at approximately 6:01 a.m., where three suspects, armed with handguns, confronted a victim in the 600 block of 10th Street, Northeast. They proceeded to demand and take the victim's property before fleeing in a vehicle. A second attempt at robbery was reported at 6:30 a.m., at 3rd Street and K Street, Northeast, where three suspects tried to rob another victim. While they did not succeed, they nonetheless fled the scene.
Further robberies with similar modus operandi occurred shortly after, with the most recent at 7:46 a.m. on the 600 block of Constitution Avenue, Northeast. As in earlier incidents, suspects brandished a weapon and demanded the victim's property. Police have issued Crime Control Numbers (CCN) for each incident, allowing the public to reference specific cases when providing tips. The CCNs range from 24186489 to 24186526 for the series of robberies.
The MPD has announced a reward of up to $10,000 for information leading to the arrest and indictment of the individuals behind these violent crimes. They urge anyone with information to call the police at (202) 727-9099 or to text tips to the Department's dedicated TEXT TIP LINE at 50411. The department emphasizes that individuals with knowledge of the incidents should not take action themselves but should immediately contact law enforcement.
