Early this morning, an individual was gravely injured in a shooting on the outskirts of Uptown Charlotte. According to QC News, the incident occurred at a residence along West Kingston Drive, near the Bank of America Stadium. Emergency services rushed to the scene, and Medic confirmed the victim was transported to Atrium CMC with life-threatening injuries.
In response, several Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police units descended upon the crime scene, weaving a tapestry of law enforcement amidst the early morning stillness. Further details are limited as the investigation unfolds. WCNC reports the shooting took place in an area between Charlotte's South End and Wilmore neighborhoods.
The circumstances that led to the shooting remain unclear. However, a WBTV crew on the scene documented a man in handcuffs. Police, however, have not confirmed any arrests or indicated whether charges will be made, as per a WBTV report. Charlotte-Mecklenburg police continue investigating after at least a half dozen officers responded to the call.
