A heartfelt gathering illuminated the VFW Post #720, as the family of the late David Denogean held a toy drive to honor his memory and his love for Christmas. The 30-year-old track coach was tragically gunned down in Phoenix back in 2022. Although the shooter remains at large, the family continues to advocate tirelessly for justice, as per ABC15. The toy drive, now an annual tradition, represents the family's commitment to keeping David's spirit alive through acts of generosity.

According to a report from 12News, more than 150 toys were bought and collected by the Denogean family for kids of all ages. "It’s all for the kids," stated Frank Denogean, David's father, in a heartfelt acknowledgment of the purpose behind their continued efforts.

Despite the festive cheer the toy drive brings, the shadow of an unsolved case looms. Frank Denogean insists that activities like this are crucial for keeping his son's memory alive. "We have not heard very much information about his case and the worst thing we can do is let his memory die and as long as we’re out in the community and trying to be relevant, to doing good things, then David’s spirit will live on forever," he told 12News.

As an inducement for those with knowledge of the crime to come forward, Silent Witness is offering a reward of up to $20,000, partly raised by the Denogean family. The hope is that the incentive will lead to tangible leads in the case. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact Phoenix Police or Silent Witness to remain anonymous. Contributions to the reward fund can be made by visiting link provided by the family.
