The Metropolitan Police Department is investigating a shooting in Southeast D.C. that occurred last Sunday. Officers were called to the 2200 block of Q Street Southeast at 7:27 p.m. after reports of gunshots.
According to the Metropolitan Police Department release, upon their arrival at the scene, police discovered Carmelo Green, a 19-year-old man from District Heights, MD, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. In spite of efforts to save his life, the emergency responders from DC Fire and EMS pronounced him dead on the scene after finding no signs consistent with life.
The Metropolitan Police Department is actively searching for those responsible for the crime and is offering a reward of up to $25,000 for information leading to an arrest and conviction. Authorities encourage anyone with information to contact the police at (202) 727-9099 or text tips to 50411.
