In a detailed crackdown on narcotics in the Bay City, Quincy Police Department arrested a man after finding drugs and firearms in his possession. The operation, which unfolded on Tuesday, December 17, was part of an ongoing investigation concerning drug sales in the area. Detectives from the Quincy Police Department's Drug Control Unit hit two spots: a residence on Curtis St. and a storage unit on Liberty St. with search warrants in hand.
At approximately 9:30 a.m., the search of the storage unit led to the discovery of what is believed to be 341 grams of cocaine, along with two handguns, shared the Police Department in a Facebook post. The firearms included a loaded .40 caliber Glock with an obliterated serial number, and a Glock 23 featuring a large capacity magazine loaded with 22 rounds of ammunition.
Moreover, the raid at Curtis St. residence yielded approximately 51 grams of white powder, also presumed to be cocaine, and another loaded handgun – a .45 caliber Glock 30S with a magazine of 12 rounds inserted in the magazine well. The street value of the seized cocaine tallies up to around $40,000. In a disturbing highlight, the presence of such high-capacity weapons intimates the serious and dangerous nature of the drug trade in the local community.
The suspect, identified as Curtis Sullivan, 36, was taken into custody at his residence. Following the arrest, Sullivan was transported to Quincy Police Department Headquarters for booking and later arraigned in Quincy District Court on several charges related to firearms and narcotics offenses.
