
The Long Beach community experienced a collective sigh of relief as Franklyn B. King, the 13-year-old girl who had been reported missing since December 27, was found and returned home safely. According to an update from the Long Beach Police Department, King was last seen leaving her residence in the 4000 block of Elm Avenue and has since returned unharmed.
Before she was located, the police described the teen as an at-risk individual, highlighting that she has a mental health condition, which elevated the severity of her disappearance, Franklyn had no cellphone nor tracking device on her person at the time adding to concern among officials.
Franklyn, who was reported as a Hispanic female standing 4'11" tall and weighing 112 lbs with brown hair and brown eyes, drew considerable attention from the community after her disappearance. The youth was notable for wearing a royal blue hoodie with "Millionaires" inscribed on the front paired with blue jeans at the time she went missing.
The Long Beach Police Department asserted before Franklyn's safe return that her mental health conditions necessitated an increased urgency in the search. The department shared no further details regarding the nature of these conditions, emphasizing instead the imperative to locate her swiftly.
