Edward Cieslik, 36, from Salem, N.H., was arrested by Methuen's Street Crimes Unit during a vehicle stop. He faces charges for possessing fentanyl, cocaine, and a firearm improperly. The arrest is part of efforts to address drug-related crime in the area, as reported by the Methuen Police Department.
According to a press release from the Methuen Police Department, officers were patrolling the usual areas on Swan and Prospect streets on Tuesday when they noticed what seemed to be a drug deal. They stopped Cieslik, the driver involved, and during their investigation, they found illegal narcotics, drug paraphernalia, and a loaded Desert Eagle .45 caliber firearm with hollow-point ammunition in his possession.
Methuen Police Chief Scott McNamara commended the Street Crimes Unit for their successful operation that resulted in the removal of dangerous narcotics and an illegally possessed firearm from the streets. "This successful operation emphasizes the skill, dedication, and teamwork of the Methuen Police Department’s Street Crimes Unit," McNamara said. "Their investigative expertise and commitment to public safety not only removed dangerous narcotics and an illegally possessed firearm from the streets but also demonstrated the department's unwavering dedication to protecting our community." The suspect, Cieslik, was arrested and arraigned the following day in Lawrence District Court, as stated by the Methuen Police Department.
