On October 6, a violent incident erupted at Parkhaus Apartments on Jones Maltsberger Road in San Antonio, resulting in a member of the Tren de Aragua gang facing charges after shooting another man, a dispute that stemmed from domestic tensions.
The altercation began when a female, involved with the victim and also affiliated with the Tren de Aragua gang, decided to move out after an argument, during which time she enlisted the aid of an older man to assist with her belongings, but the situation escalated quickly when her boyfriend insisted she was not leaving and confronted the older man, according to KSAT, the older man left, but he would not return the items to the girlfriend unless she personally requested it; this standoff soon turned volatile.
The situation took a dangerous turn when the older man returned to the apartment with several individuals, including Maikol Williams Laguna Chirinos, another member of the Tren de Aragua gang. Upon knocking on the door, the victim opened it, leading to a confrontation about respect towards elders. According to an affidavit reported by InterNewsCast, San Antonio police revealed that "the victim was confronted about disrespecting older people."
Chirinos, who is accused in the shooting, reportedly fired four shots, hitting the victim three times in the body and once in the head; the victim fortunately survived after receiving extensive medical treatment following the assault and Chirinos is currently being held at the Bexar County Adult Detention Center, with bail set at $200,000 as per court documents, as mentioned by InterNewsCast.
