Yesterday, the residents of eastern Santa Rosa witnessed a sudden blaze as the City of Santa Rosa Fire Department hustled to subdue an early morning kitchen fire. The Arroyo Sierra Circle neighborhood was disrupted at 7:46 am by a distress call about a residential structure aflame. As reported by the City of Santa Rosa Fire Department, emergency units, including four engines, one ladder truck company, one squad, two Chief Officers, one air support unit, and one prevention officer, responded precisely.
When the first fire unit arrived, under four minutes after the initial alarm, they were met with layers of smoke heralding from the rear of a split-level residence. Fortunately, a solitary resident had found safety before the teams arrived. Fire crews on scene searched the inside of the structure and found and rescued the residents’ cat, which was returned to the owner in the front yard.
Crews stayed to prevent the fire from starting again. The cause of the fire is still being investigated, but it seems to have been an accident.
