
Yesterday evening, a 44-year-old man fell victim to a hit-and-run in Rock Hill, resulting in a community marred by tragedy and a police department in search of a suspect. According to WBTV, the serious collision occurred around 6:40 p.m. along Celanese Road near Interstate 77. Police were summoned to the scene following reports of a body in the road and discovered the severely injured man who was quickly transported to Piedmont Medical Center. Tragically, he was pronounced dead shortly after.
In the wake of the incident, law enforcement has been diligently working to piece together the circumstances of the man's death. Initial findings suggest that he was lying in the roadway upon being discovered, which prompted an immediate response from the Rock Hill Police. Yet, the vehicle responsible for the accident has still to be identified. This information was obtained from QCNews, who further clarified that as of now, there has been no description of the vehicle released and the investigation is steadfastly active.
The Rock Hill Police have issued a call to the public, asking anyone with information about the crash to come forward. "Authorities believe he was struck by a vehicle. That victim was rushed to Piedmont Medical Center where he was pronounced dead," reported WBTV, conveying the tragic consequences of the event. With no arrests made, community members possessing any knowledge pertinent to the incident are implored to assist in the ongoing investigation.
While the Rock Hill Police continue to actively hunt for leads, the identity of the deceased remains undisclosed as the case unfolds.
