Memphis has seen another development in the aftermath of a violent shooting that occurred outside the Focuz Lounge earlier this year. Christopher Walls, 23, was arrested yesterday in connection with the incident that left four people injured back in August, as reported by WREG. Walls is facing charges including attempted first-degree murder, reckless endangerment counts, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony.
This recent arrest sheds further light on the events of August 4, when, according to Memphis Police, shots were fired at two individuals, who took cover behind vehicles outside the nightclub located on Shelby Oaks Drive. Walls, alongside previously arrested suspect Frank Clemons, has been implicated in the shooting, which sent bullets flying not only toward the victims but also through the club's wall into an outdoor area crowded with patrons. Walls made a court appearance this morning, according to an affidavit referenced by Action News 5.
Clemons, who faces similar charges, was arrested one week after the shooting when security footage helped identify a white Dodge Charger registered in his name as part of the crime scene. He has been held on a $2 million bond since his capture on August 11. The suspect now in custody, Walls, was booked into the Shelby County Jail this week and faces significant legal challenges ahead, per FOX13 Memphis' report on the case.
