Seguin residents, take note: the city has announced a brief hiatus for certain services this Christmas. According to a recent update on the City of Seguin's official website, non-emergency offices and the Seguin Public Library will be shut down on December 24, and Wednesday, December 25. The closure, aligning with Christmas traditions, is a pause that allows employees to spend the holiday with family and friends.
While library doors remain closed and desks at city offices grow idle, city services about garbage and recycling pickup march on - albeit with slight adjustments. On Christmas Eve, garbage and recycling will be collected as per the norm, yet the cessation of these services on Christmas Day introduces a shift in schedule, as no garbage or recycling will be collected on December 25, routes will then follow a day later, on Thursday, meaning bins will be emptied, and recyclables hauled away, with the efficiency befitting post-holiday cleanups.
Thursdays in Seguin will see a return to normalcy after the holiday respite. Offices and the library are slated to swing open their doors and resume their usual operations on December 26. The city's commitment to serving its community silently asserts itself here, in the background of holiday celebrations, marked by the subtle exchange from closed doors during festivities to open doors thereafter.
Residents needing assistance or more information about schedule changes or other concerns can easily get help by calling Citizen Relations at (830) 401-2445. The city encourages individuals to reach out for answers during the busy holiday season.
