Following a violent altercation in Sonoma Valley that landed two people in the hospital with stab wounds, the Sonoma County Sheriff's Office has taken a local man into custody. On Sunday night, a confrontation erupted near the intersection of Riverside Drive and Boyes Boulevard involving a group of men from a nearby house and six individuals who had arrived by vehicle, according to a social media post by the Sonoma Sheriff.

Sheriff’s deputies were quick to arrive on the scene and managed to detain four suspects who were trying to leave the area quickly. In the investigation that followed, deputies found out that two residents of the house had been stabbed. The deputies rendered first aid, utilizing tourniquets and chest seals on the more severe injuries. The victims were subsequently transported by ambulance to a local hospital and are expected to survive.

The incidents prompted an investigation by the Violent Crime Investigations (VCI) Detectives. Through their investigations, the detectives identified Brandon Florentino, a 20-year-old from Sonoma, as the suspect responsible for the stabbings. Florentino was apprehended the following day while exiting his Happy Lane residence.

While enforcing a search warrant on Florentino's person and place of residence, detectives uncovered evidence that appears to connect him to the crime definitively. The suspect was taken into custody on two counts of Assault with a Deadly Weapon. He was booked into Sonoma County Main Adult Detention Facility, and according to the Sonoma Sheriff's Office, Florentino remains in custody and is currently held on a bail of $30,000.
