
Police have apprehended a man in connection with a stabbing in Southeast Washington, D.C. that left one person injured, the Metropolitan Police Department said. The incident took place on Monday in the middle of the afternoon, when the suspect allegedly stabbed an adult male multiple times.
According to an MPD press release, officers received a report of the attack around 1:12 p.m. and discovered the victim on the 1700 block of Minnesota Avenue, Southeast, found semi-conscious and struggling to breathe after sustaining numerous stab wounds, the suspect by then had already fled the scene. The victim was rapidly transported to a nearby hospital where he received treatment for serious injuries.
In a statement obtained by the Metropolitan Police Department, detectives on the case managed to arrest 53-year-old John Scoggins from Southeast D.C. yesterday, in relation to the crime, charging him with Assault with Intent to Kill, Scoggins' rapid apprehension is attributed to thorough investigative work by the MPD following the stabbing incident.
