In Bucks County, Pennsylvania, a carbon monoxide leak is suspected to be the cause of the death of a 76-year-old woman and the hospitalization of a 76-year-old man. According to 6abc, the call for help came early yesterday morning, prompting authorities and emergency personnel to quickly respond to the scene at a property on the 6900 block of Phillips Mill Road.
The emergency call came in just after 6:30 a.m. reporting a man had passed out. The New Hope Lambertville Rescue Squad quickly arrived and removed the man from a detached office or in-law suite. He was taken to the hospital for medical treatment, as reported by NBC Philadelphia. Responders found hazardous conditions inside the property, with a high concentration of carbon monoxide.
Additionally, two medics who experienced exposure to the toxic gas were transported to Doylestown Hospital, and a Solebury Township police officer was treated at the scene, illustrating the far-reaching impact of the leak. The Solebury Township Police Department continues to investigate the source of the carbon monoxide.
The home is owned by Marc Blucas, an actor known for his roles in TV shows and Hallmark films, and his wife, Ryan Haddon. They purchased the house in 2012, according to records cited by CBS News. Blucas, a former Wake Forest University basketball player turned actor, and Haddon, a life coach and hypnotherapist, moved to the area to be closer to family and began restoring the historic property. "It was before George Washington was born... it's pretty amazing, and it's a way to stay creatively stimulated when I'm not out filming," Blucas said in a past interview with the Hallmark Channel.
