NBC Los Angeles reports that one driver has been apprehended after the chase concluded on Lankershim Boulevard and Saticoy Street in North Hollywood, while details of the secondary suspect remain active.
The suspect navigated a stolen gray GMC truck at speeds that at times neared 100 mph, dangerously weaving between lanes and carelessly flirting with disaster on the busy 5 Freeway. The chase, as per KTLA, continued onto the 2 Freeway and ventured to the 134 before retracing its path to the 5 and changing course to the 110 Freeway.
Amid heavy traffic, the driver made his way to Exposition Park near the USC campus in downtown Los Angeles. According to KTLA, the vehicle momentarily lost control on Vermont Avenue, an incident which was followed by the truck thief abandoning the vehicle and attempting to flee on foot by Halldale Avenue and Jefferson Boulevard.
Armed officers fastened their resolve and swiftly took the suspect into custody, effectively ending the pursuit with no further detail on whether the chase had incurred injuries or collisions, as detailed by KTLA.
