A somber mood has enveloped the Crown Heights neighborhood of Brooklyn after a violent attack left a 16-year-old boy in critical condition. According to ABC7NY, the teen was stabbed at least five times in the chest and abdomen, with the possibility of a screwdriver being the weapon used.
The incident unfolded just before 7 p.m. yesterday near the intersection of Rochester Avenue and Carroll Street, where the victim was apparently set upon by a group of teens who subsequently fled the area by foot. Amid the swift and chaotic response, the weapon believed to have been used in the assault was recovering near the scene. The teen was transported to the nearby Kings County Hospital to receive medical attention for his wounds. As of now, no arrests have been made in connection with the stabbing.
