In an effort to make roads throughout Texas not only safer but smarter, TxDOT has introduced an Artificial Intelligence Strategic Plan. The department has outlined 230 potential AI-use cases that were developed with input from its statewide staff which includes engineers, IT experts, and planners.

"Incorporating AI into our IT infrastructure allows us to not only drive innovation but also prioritize transparency, security and roadway safety,” Anh Selissen, Chief Information Officer, said in a statement released by the TxDOT newsroom. The Strategic Plan outlines an AI Implementation Roadmap that emphasizes governance and adherence to ethical standards and data privacy.
