Three individuals have been apprehended by the Metropolitan Police Department in connection to a robbery that unfolded in Northwest Washington, D.C. last week.
The incident in question took place near 16th and Q Streets, Northwest, around 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, November 28, as reported by the MPD's official statement. According to authorities, two suspects initiated the confrontation by assaulting the victim and forcibly taking their belongings. A getaway vehicle, driven by a third accomplice, was used to quickly flee the crime scene. Fortunately, the victim was reported to have sustained no injuries during the robbery.
The suspects did not manage to evade capture for long. Police acted upon a description of the escape vehicle, managing to locate it shortly after the incident. The ensuing apprehension saw the suspects attempt to run away, but officers swiftly contained the situation and took them into custody. Recovered at the scene were the stolen items and a firearm.
The MPD's investigation led to the identification of the suspects as 18-year-old Previous Hill of Northeast, 19-year-old Maleek Jones of Richmond, Virginia, and 23-year-old Lamont Fleming, who currently has no fixed address. They were charged with Robbery Force and Violence, according to the information released via the police department's website.
