A 17-year-old girl has been fatally shot and six others were injured during a party in Signal Hill this past weekend. According to CBS News Los Angeles, the shooting occurred just before 10:15 p.m. on Saturday in the 1000 block of E. Burnett Street. When the Signal Hill Police Department officers arrived, they discovered three male and four female teenagers with gunshot wounds.
The casualties of the gunfire ranged from 17 to 19 years old, and as they were being transported to the hospitals, with non-life-threatening injuries, six of them received treatment, as per information from FOX LA. Sadly, the 17-year-old girl succumbed to her injuries and was later pronounced dead. The identity of the deceased has not been released pending family notification. After the shooting, it was reported that attendees of the party scattered from the scene.
Police are now urging anyone with information about this incident to come forward and assist in the investigation. "Those individuals are encouraged to contact Homicide Bureau," a statement read from the sheriff's department obtained by ABC7.
