
Two men were left injured after a shooting occurred at a location suspected to be an illegal gambling operation in the Flushing neighborhood of Queens. The violent incident unfolded on Haight Street yesterday evening around 9:20 p.m., with authorities responding to the scene and discovering two victims of gunfire.
According to ABC7 New York, a 37-year-old man was shot in the head and quickly transported to New York-Presbyterian Queens Hospital where he was reported to be in critical condition and undergoing surgery. Another victim, a 42-year-old man, was also injured with a gunshot wound to the right cheek and is now in stable condition. Police say that three men were seen fleeing a scene in a white SUV following the shooting, sparking a manhunt.
The motive behind the shooting is believed to be a robbery attempt at the suspected underground gambling site. As the investigation continues, law enforcement officials are piecing together the events that led up to the violent altercation and the identities of the suspects involved.
